Area Sales Manager
Greys Specialist Recruitment are working with a leading manufacturer within the heating and renewable technology sector to recruit an Area Sales Manager for the North of England.
This is a project-led sales role focused on developing relationships across the commercial building services market, working closely with M&E consultants, contractors, developers, local authorities and housing associations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a broad range of domestic and commercial heating products, including boilers, heat pumps and water heating solutions, while increasing brand awareness, developing project opportunities and supporting revenue growth across the region.
The Role
As Area Sales Manager, you will act as a key commercial contact for project sales activity across the North of England. You will be responsible for nurturing existing stakeholder relationships, identifying new project opportunities and positioning the business as a trusted partner across the heating, renewables and commercial building services market.
You will work closely with consultants, contractors, developers and public sector stakeholders, delivering presentations, attending meetings and providing technical and commercial support throughout the sales process.
This role would suit a technically credible sales professional with experience in gas, renewables, commercial heating or related building services products.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and grow project-led sales opportunities across the North of England.
Build and maintain relationships with M&E consultants, contractors, developers, local authorities and housing associations.
Promote a range of domestic and commercial heating and renewable products.
Act as a key point of contact for project sales activity, both internally and externally.
Identify new business opportunities and strengthen existing customer relationships.
Increase market presence, brand awareness and reputation across the region.
Monitor competitor activity, market trends and industry developments.
Maintain accurate CRM records and sales data.
Prepare and deliver presentations to customers, stakeholders and internal teams.
Use product knowledge to provide informed, value-led technical and commercial solutions.
Stay up to date with relevant legislation, compliance requirements and ethical industry practice.
The Person
We are looking for a commercially driven Area Sales Manager with strong technical sales experience and a background in heating, gas, renewables or commercial building services.
You will be confident engaging with technical and commercial stakeholders, comfortable presenting to customers and able to manage a project-led sales process from early engagement through to opportunity development.
The right candidate will be proactive, credible and relationship-focused, with the ability to build trust across consultants, contractors and key decision-makers.
Requirements
Technical sales experience within heating, renewables, gas, HVAC, commercial heating or building services.
Strong knowledge of commercial heating products.
Understanding of boilers, heat pumps, water heaters or related technologies.
Experience selling into project-led environments.
Ability to engage with M&E consultants, contractors, developers, local authorities or housing associations.
Strong presentation, communication and relationship-building skills.
Competent user of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and Word.
Confident using CRM systems to manage sales activity and pipeline information.
Commercially aware, organised and able to manage a regional territory effectively.
Full UK driving licence.
